The Lambkin Cat is a Selkirk Rex mixed with the Munchkin Gene. These Dwarf Cats resemble the Munchkin Cat with their short legs and similar breeding process. 

Lambkin Hair

The Lambkin gets its name from is curly coat of hair that resembles a lamb. Their coat is very soft to the touch and often feels like kashmir. At birth they have curly hair, but by 16 weeks their hair either straightens out or falls out. However, by 8-10 months their hair fully grows back curly


Lambkin Body Structure

Lambkin chests are broad, full, round, and medium-long. The have a very harry and full tail, which shows plumes on long-haired Lambkins. Their hind legs are taller than the front legs which makes them look like they are ready to move forward. 


Face Structure

Lambkins have round faces that are complimented by their round eyes.



Specific Health Recommendations


There are no known health problems specific to the Selkirk Rex breed. They are a robust breed. Like other Rex breeds, irritation of the inside of the ear by curly fur can occur, increasing the production of ear wax.

Coming from the Selkirk Rex, the Lambkin is gentle and sociable. They are affectionate and like nestling with owners, Which makes them a great addition to families with older children, other household pets or guests. If they are raised in many social situations as a kitten, the Lambkin will likely become an easy going traveler as well as an wonderful therapeutic cat. The Lambkin also has a playful side from its Munchkin traits. You will find that these curly cats will want to play when not cuddling with you.
